The Blue Swallow Farm Foundation has been working with administrators, educators, scientists, and researchers to encourage outdoor activities for students. We will be regularly posting updates on initiatives we have been supporting in our outreach section.

We have been working on curriculum resources, professional development, and research over the course of the fall. Here are some of the activities that we have been involved with and others that are coming up.

  • Conducted the Teaching and Learning in the Outdoor Classroom (T-LOC) program for preschool teachers in Arlington in collaboration with Marymount University and Earlyspace and sponsored by Michael & Son Services.

  • Held the annual Blue Swallow Farm Foundation picnic at Scarlet Springs Farm

  • Launched children’s programming for Spring/Summer 2026
  • Partnering with Washington County Public Schools, Maryland to develop Watershed Wizards 2.0 for Summer 2026 with support from the Veverka Family Foundation.

  • Recipient of the Capacity Award Program through the Chesapeake Bay Trust, Chesapeake Funders Network, Chesapeake Program, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
